We are one family

hopewhisper

Everyone should feel like they are welcomed as part of the whole, yet not everyone is. Today my blog supports both the effort and the mission of the Give ‘EM Hope Campaign: Their mission is to give HOPE to those who need it most. Their worldwide network of volunteers inspires and uplifts all those who need assurance … Give EM Hope volunteers reminds everyone that their uniqueness is something to be celebrated.

We thrive on the delicacy of love: We are of one family – the family of humanity: We are of one heart – we are one heartbeat in the family of humanity and this means that we were not meant to live our lives in in isolation; in quiet desperation.

Our homes, our neighborhoods our workplaces and our communities should be havens of safety; yet they are not.

Everyone has the right to live and to live together in peace and harmony; therefore we should never accept any barbarous act or actions by a body of people that would outrage the conscience of mankind. Yet we do. We should never accept bias or bigotry, yet we do.

Everyone should enjoy all economic, social and cultural rights – these are indispensable for our dignity and the free development of our personality. Yet homophobic climates deny these basic rights to millions.

All people have the inalienable and inherent right to love and we cannot in good conscience disregard or withhold the basic needs to others and we should never hold anyone in contempt for ‘loving differently.’

Everyone has the right to know and be known – to see and be seen – to understand and be understood.

Everyone has the right to feel safe; to enjoy peace; to experience serenity and tranquility in their home, their neighborhood and community, yet this is not so.

Everyone is different – yet we are all he same: We should recognize the inherent dignity and promote these equal and inalienable rights to all members of the human family as this is the foundation for freedom, justice and peace in the world. Yet we don’t.

We need places of safety and security for our GLBT youth — There is no justification for abusing them, abandoning them, discarding them, ignoring them or calling them evil and sinners. All youth, GLBT or straight … need to feel a sense of hope. Everyone: Adult and youth … all need to feel welcome, that we are a part of the whole.

We should be welcoming the advent of a world in which everyone enjoys freedom of from fear: of harassment, persecution, prosecution, punishment and torment. Yet many people don’t want this for their citizens.

The Give ‘Em Hope Campaign promotes more than acceptance to GLBT – we promote life; we promote equality of rights, we promote more than friendship and respect.

To give GLBT hope means we promote the spirit of brotherhood, we value the wide range of differences that exists among all people and volunteers are welcomed: We need your voices: we need your voices to continue our work of promoting inclusion … we need your voices to help us continue to provide a safe place for LGBT people to share their dreams and fears, their hopes and their grief.

The Give ‘Em Hope volunteers understand the need for inclusion – so many of our GLBT family members and friends have been abandoned, abused; disowned and discarded; our friends – our family members have begged and pleaded – they’ve bled and died.

We understand the needs as well as recognize the great responsibility … it is our responsibility to promote friendship and we are here to provide the tender warmth of familial love that has been denied to so many — familial love that so many of our visitors have never known.

Everyone should feel like they are welcomed as part of the whole, yet not everyone is. — We are of one family – the family of humanity: We are of one heart – we are one heartbeat in the family of humanity and this means that we were not meant to live our lives in in isolation; in quiet desperation.

I am proud to be a part of the Give ‘EM Hope volunteer family… If you believe in inclusiveness and equality please join the campaign … be a voice in the darkness, without a voice in the darkness hope dwindles and dies… be a voice in the darkness, speak words of inclusiveness – of hope of love.

Its Human Rights: Not Heterosexual Rights

I support my Oklahoma family members

Attorney General Scott Pruitt
313 NE 21st Street,
Oklahoma City, OK 73105

Dear Mr. Pruitt,

My letter addresses GLBT right to marriage in Oklahoma

Sir, the public statement you issued regarding Judge Terence Kerns ruling troubles me. In your statement you declared: “It is a troubling decision. As the Supreme Court recently noted in the Windsor case, it is up to the states to decide how to define marriage, not the federal government. There is a case involving the State of Utah currently pending before the 10th Circuit that is identical to the case in Tulsa. The issue most likely will end up at the U.S. Supreme Court and the outcome will dictate whether Oklahoma’s constitutional provision will be upheld.”

Sir, how can the decision be troubling? Judge Kern’s ruling is essentially the same of many other Judges and their rulings have all noted that the fundamental equality of lesbian and gay couples is already guaranteed by the United States Constitution, Sir; Equality is not just for a privileged few. Equality is for everyone.

Reviewing facts:

1. Fact: Worldwide LGBT are branded, slurred, defamed; in other words stigmatized, made to appear as second class citizens.
2. Fact: All state bans on marriage by gay and lesbian couples are arbitrary.
3. Fact: Exclusion is irrational.
4. Fact: The Oklahoma state amendment just as many other state bans have a base that is purely and solely on moral disapproval and such disapproval has never advanced any state’s interests.

 The Constitution protects the fundamental rights which include the right to marry and the right to have that marriage recognized by their governments.
 These rights would be meaningless if the Constitution did not also prevent the government from interfering with the intensely personal choices an individual makes that person decides to make a solemn commitment to another human being.
 The Constitution therefore protects the choice of one’s partner for all citizens, regardless of their sexual identity.

Judge Kern ruled on these important facts
1. Equal protection is at the very heart of our legal system
2. Central to our consent to be governed
3. It is not a scare commodity to be meted out begrudgingly or in short portions.

I am truly troubled by the fact that your office seems to care little for the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution. If this troubles me and millions of others why isn’t this troubling to you and your office? This is the Common Era- not the year 1014 AD. It’s time that not only Oklahoma’s laws give way to individual constitutional rights, ALL state laws should give way to individual constitutional rights.

The work for Equal Rights around the world will continue: The work must, can and will continue because prohibitive legislative bans in other countries is leaving millions terrorized because of unjust laws: because in the USA elitists irrationally and purposely focus solely on redefining marriage: Because elitists in other countries criminalize same gender relationships. The fact that elitists irrationally and purposely focus on redefining marriage is criminal as well as punitive is mean-spirited and clearly uncharitable.

Sir, we are all one heartbeat in humanity; everyone around the world must loudly and unequivocally protest all punitive and mean spirited GLBT legislation and laws. No one should ever be jailed or put to death because they love someone of their own gender. Every voice must be heard. Everyone has a right to be seen, to know, to understand, to love and be loved in return. Court battles are costly, unjust and unnecessary. We must continue to clear the pathway for full and equal rights because ignorance is real, hate is real, bigotry is real and they are lethal.

My question: How long will Oklahoma continue to demean the dignity of same-sex couples when there is no rational reason to do so?

Thank you for your time,

Love is a shelter

Typically Pro-life means support for bringing the human fetus to full term.  I’m expanding this meaning – to  support LIFE in all stages of the human experience.

In America we still live in a democratic society, an open society though this is changing and everyone  appears to be calling for censorship and restrictions much like those of the Puritanical Era and some people are still locked in history, they will not or perhaps they cannot look forward. These are the ones who want to deny gay rights and these are the designers and planners who would like to recreate a GLBT variation of that obscene practice of apartheid that existed in South Africa from 1948 to the early 1990’s.

Equal rights are equal rights and no democratic government should ever parcel out privileges to a few of its citizens while denying them to others. Why not celebrate equal rights?  Fear is one answer. People fear what they do not understand and then we have those who fan the flames of hell fire and brimstone who cause chaos and mayhem when it would be so easy to be a maker of peace, not a peace maker that’s not the same thing, nor a peace keeper.

How do you make peace? It starts with the understanding of our own heart. Love is a shelter for everyone. Love means listening to our own heart. Love means practicing kindness, love means we are to unconditionally support all members of the global community – all people from all backgrounds. This is pro-life in totality because LOVE itself supports LIFE in all stages of our human experience.

What do you want to see in 2014?

What do you want to see in 2014?

Perhaps a better question would be… what are you capable of and willing to do in 2014 to bring about the needs that you see that are most important to you? For myself I feel that we need to work harder towards bringing peace, harmony and love for all people.

We cannot ignore history – Most importantly we cannot continue wasting energy or time giving ignorant people publicity. We must not work in splinter groups, each doing our own thing. We must find the energy to move forward and to do this we need to continue to organize as we did for the million people march. We need to look forward not backward, we need to look up, not down. Look at our friends and our allies who are consistently there. We need to forge new friendships and make new allies.

Humanity cries out for comfort, forgiveness, healing, love, patience, joy, guidance, friendship. We need kindness. We need all these in our lives more than we need to be told we are damned and sinners.  We need healers and makers of peace not critics and censors. We need humanitarians. We need kindness; otherwise we are going to continue to move from this darkness into a darker darkness.  No matter what we see and hear from the news media this is the Age of Aquarius. This is the age of increased spirituality and harmony.   This is destined to be the age of ‘holiness and agreement. ‘

We need more break more bread with each other. We need a lot more truly holy men far more than we need little tin gods.  We need light bearers making peace – not just envisioning peace. We need makers of peace to ensure harmony throughout the world. We need ‘lovers’ who call to say “I can help bake bread.”

We need helpful people in our lives to be there to lift us up when we are down. We don’t need tin gods trying to tear us away from our basic security, our family. Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them: all children worldwide.

Human rights are human rights and we must stand up for them. What they need now is help through laws and legislation that will not violate their constitutions.  All children need allies and friends and leaders and policymakers who will protect, listen and represent their needs issues and not promote stigmatization and prejudice.  Lawmakers, policymakers’ movers and shakers, one and all need to act with both reason and evidence and recognize equality and human rights and work to outlaw discrimination, period. Everyone should want laws that will protect every citizen, not harm them. Everyone should work together to make a secure place in the future for the children: Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them, all of them and this must, absolutely must include GLBTQIA.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu said “Let us come together and be one; let us be people of peace; let us be people of harmony.” His words should be a reminder to all of us that our personal world is ours to shape, that as individuals we should gather together to work for peace; even as a private individual we are ambassadors to the global community and we have a responsibility to be a person of peace.

As a person of peace we have the responsibility to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to share our knowledge with openness, honesty and kindness. Being an ambassador of peace is a great responsibility but it must be done; we need more bakers of bread than arms sellers. We live together on this planet. Let us be one community; let’s assist and support each other in peace and love every dImageay and let our kindness ripple out to bless others.

This is the Age of Aquarius…right?

ENVISION PEACE, HARMONY, AND LOVE FOR ALL PEOPLE.

We need comfort, forgiveness, healing, love, patience, joy, guidance, friendship.
We need kindness. We need all these in our lives more than we need to be told we are damned and sinners. We need healers and makers of peace not critics and censors. We need humanitarians. This is the age of increased spirituality and harmony, right?  If this is so, then this is to be an age of ‘holiness and agreement.’ We need more bread and fewer guns. We need a lot more holy men far more than we need little tin gods.  We need light bearers making peace not just envisioning peace. We need makers of peace to ensure harmony throughout the world. We need ‘lovers’ who call to say “I can help bake bread.”

We don’t need media personalities ‘Saving Children’ by creating myths and telling lies that destroy lives. These are little tin gods using some insane argument to save us from our humanness.   We need helpful people in our lives to be there to lift us up when we are down. We don’t need tin gods trying to tear us away from our basic security, our family, our livelihood and our villages.

Yesterday morning I received a disturbing message on Facebook from one of my sons by
another mother. This son lives in Africa, he wrote; “Mama, I’ve been given an eviction letter, I’m to leave my village and never come back.” Sadly this is the second son who has been evicted from his village … I worry that my other sons and the other young men who call me grandma will message me tell me the same horrid news. Decent work is scarce, where are they going to find work the work they are trained for? Once their employer knows they are gay they will be fired and harassed and forced to move again. They are disowned and shunned by their families. This is common for GLBT in Africa.

ENVISION PEACE, HARMONY, AND LOVE FOR ALL PEOPLE.

As peacemakers we should affirm peace and harmony for ALL people.

Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them, all of them, this includes GLBT.  Human rights-are-human rights, however unpopular a group is and we must stand up for them. My Ugandan GLBT family members are wonderful men, educated and full dreams and hope and promise, what they need now is help through laws and legislation that will not violate their constitution. They need allies and friends and leaders and policymakers who will protect, listen and represent their needs issues and not promote stigmatization and prejudice.

Lawmakers, policymakers’ movers and shakers; one and all need to act with both reason and evidence and recognize equality and human rights and work to outlaw discrimination, period. Everyone should want laws that will protect every citizen, not harm them. Everyone should work together to make a secure place in the future for the children: Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them, all of them and this must, absolutely must include GLBT.

Speed cancels out guidance. When we move in speed we are out of touch with ourselves and when we are out of touch with ourselves we burnout. We need to slow down and listen for guidance as my young friend did.

 A Pursuit of Happiness

By: Kyle Cecil – July 10, 2013

First off, I just want to say that this is a journey and everyone’s journey is and will be different and let me say that this isn’t easy by any means, it’s more about improving your way of thinking about your daily life and even maybe finding love, so here we go.

I began my journey to fully understanding myself and the reason why I’m here, my purpose for living if you will about two and a half months ago but one of the things I’ve learned during my journey is that you have to cut the negative things and people that bring you down out of your life or give them a lesser role to play in your life; I fight for LGBT/human rights and after so long of fighting for equality and constantly seeing a lot of negative stuff on my Facebook newsfeed it started to affect me in a way I didn’t think it would, I started to get a very negative outlook on everything. The other had to do with some of the people I interacted with, some were negative which didn’t help me in the least but yet I kept them around and let them continue to affect me in ways I didn’t realize they were affecting me. The other problem that was affecting me in a negative way is I was letting work take over my life which was stressing me out daily which didn’t help with the negative thoughts. Than there was family, when you feel like you have to always be here and there and you feel like you get no alone time to focus on yourself it starts to affect you in negative ways as well, even though its family it can still affect you in a negative way.

The things I’ve done along my journey of finding happiness is this; I don’t have many news sources on my fb newsfeed anymore and the people who are negative I’ve cut out of my life and I have like several uplifting and inspirational pages which has helped me, for the job part I’ve let it not affect me in like it has in the past and I’ve even been looking for a job that I actually can enjoy doing and that I can look forward to going to work, and for the family part I’ve learned that I need alone time and when I need it I take it because MY needs are just as important as anyone else’s but I have worked out a time to spend alone and a time to spend with family. But just doing these things I feel so much better than I have in years but though I’ve not found love yet I’m not focusing all my time and energy on that because if I just focus on me and making myself happy I believe love will come to me when the time is right.

I have always been told that you got to love yourself before anyone else can love you, the more I’m on my journey the more I believe this to be true, though loving yourself can sometimes be hard to learn to do it’s not impossible to do if you’re willing to look hard enough and deep enough inside yourself to find out what’s keeping you from loving yourself. We are and can be our own worst enemy but only dealing with our inner demons and insecurities will we truly find the problems and the issues that keep us from truly developing our spiritual side into what it can and is truly meant to be. Once the problems are found, which most of the time those problems dwell within ourselves, but by working to overcome those problems be it anger problems, trust issues, hard time forgiving others as well as ourselves, or just an overall bad outlook on life can you truly begin to understand and love yourself and get the most of what life has to offer.

One of the things I’ve learned on this journey is when it comes to finding love is don’t focus so much on finding love focus on yourself and self-improvements and do the things you love and enjoy doing, for example I love everything art and I’m very talented and creative in the arts so I’ve learned and have tried to learn as much as I can about my talents and all the different types of art and art related things that I can such as drawing, painting, flower arrangements, room decorating, writing but nothing really specific like stories but just writing like this piece here but now I want to learn about graphic art and photography to see how much further I can take my talents. And my other passion would be music, I’ve always wanted to learn to play the electric guitar so I started to practice with Motley Crue and Kiss music and my guitar skills daily get better and faster and I love it because I’m seeing one of my goals in life come to life right before my eyes. These are just two of my favorite interest but just spending time to do what I enjoy has made me enjoy my life more and just focusing on me more and others less has made a lot of worrying and stress I had before go away, sometimes you have to focus on you and your needs more and less on others or will and can lose yourself in the process.

Another way to improve yourself or your way of thinking is to face your fears, like for me one of my fears is I’m afraid of heights and I’m looking to overcome that fear because if I can face my fears maybe just maybe I can find a more inner peace than I have already, but my point is this; spend time enjoying your life and doing the things you’ve always wanted to do because we only get one chance to live so make it count and when you least expect it love will find you! But just find that happiness within yourself now that way that relationship will only add to that happiness and not be the main reason for your happiness. Look to yourself before someone else for your happiness.

I wanted to share my experience so far in my own pursuit for happiness and what I’ve done and what I am doing to find my own happiness in hopes that someone else might be able to take from my experience and use this to find their own happiness.

Peace is our gift to the world

“Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.”
Carl Sagan

Peace and goodwill are not just days or seasons; the Judeo – Christian teacher isn’t a ‘reason for a season’ as some promote.  Everybody wants to believe in peace and prays for it; some sing about, write about it; shout for it, parade for it and some die for it. Some believe peace will never come, some believe it will come when signs are met. Some work for peace, while others work to thwart it. But peace doesn’t start ‘out there’ with someone else; it doesn’t start with my neighbor; or work through a political administration; no, it starts much closer than that. It starts within.  The key lies within every one of us; peace starts with me.

Peace doesn’t come to us; it never left: it won’t be found, it was never lost: Peace is intangible, it can’t be bought, borrowed, negotiated, traded or sold and will never be secured by a government; by threats and weapons. Peace isn’t a ‘when’ or a ‘then’ or found in in the writings of the ancient mystics. All the mystical writings point to the Way- but text is not the Way.  Way is core – is powerful – inexpressible.

Today our perception of time is distorted. Today everything is imperative; everything must meet an impossible deadline; everything must be done faster- faster; now: tomorrow is too late.  In this millennia we live under the ‘rule of fear scarcity;’ when is there time to be a maker of peace, or think of making peace or even knowing a moment’s peace?  The Instant Generation wants it now; the instant generation doesn’t understand history; they want what they want and they want it now regardless of the price. They want action through drugs/poison; they take machinery and media for granted; they are into movement and loud noise; they listen only with ‘one ear.’ The music doesn’t allow them to listen to others or to even think. They are the devotees; the agitators and motivators’ of the pre-revolutionary- evolution – this coming chaotic creation of devastation.

There will come a time in the future when humanity will surge forward and remember life and recall the past when time was not measured by an abstract idea of hours; or conceptualized by names like Monday and January and humanity will recall that we looked to nature and kept time with the rhythm of the earth and some will remember that we are not just connected to it— but we are connected with it.  Many will remember that life – all of life is continuous movement, but today mankind is now so obsessed with the concept of instant. Everything must manifest almost instantaneously.

Nation against nation, war and rumors of war are claims that bombard us daily, and frequently pundit’s claim humanity is living in the last days, but peace isn’t a then or when and will not manifest while man speaks harmful hateful words to one another and discusses unleashing weapons of mass destruction.  War and destruction are man’s doing; peace is also man’s doing.

Do we want to have calm, friendly tranquil relationships with our family, friends and neighbors? Do we truly want to be universally free of war?  If the answers to the questions are yes then we must look at and give up our own personal boundaries we have built: we must give up the narrow minded prejudices; our belief that silver and gold assures happiness. We are one heartbeat in humanity. Our peace is our gift to the world,  however success is not assured; peace cannot be achieved without co-operative effort.

An incredible peace is waiting.
