Earth – A place we call home- Black Life Matters

A commentary regarding

Slavery – Segregation – Abolition …

Think of the rivers of blood spilled by slave holders who became financial emperors

White lives and Black lives –
Years of degradation
Privileges and Power
Men with whips

Terror and violence –
Men in chains

Black life… Matters

Think of the cruelties inflicted by distinguishable inhabitants on places on a map.

Slavery – Segregation – Years of degradation –
Terror and violence –Chains and whips
Stolen Lives  – White lies
 Black life –Matters

“To be a slave is to be owned by another person. A slave is a human being classed as property and who is forced to work for nothing. An enslaved person is a human being who is made to be a slave. This language is often used instead of the word slave, to refer to the person and their experiences and to avoid the use of dehumanizing language.”-*

It means that every aspect of your life is owned by another person. Your sweat – your tears – your breath is owned and owed. It means that your body- and your skills-talents can be traded – sold like merchandise on a whim or a choice. It means the roof over your head belongs to another; the food you eat is what is given; and the time you rise, eat and sleep are set by another.

It means that those you make friends with – establish a family with – can be taken away… uprooted without notice.  An educated slave was esteemed, but considered as a threat –

“Fearing that black literacy would prove a threat to the slave system — which relied on slaves’ dependence on masters — whites in many colonies instituted laws forbidding slaves to learn to read or write and making it a crime for others to teach them.” Sourced: Excerpt from South Carolina Act of 1740

A slave was … Branded: Marked permanently with a hot iron as identifiable property; traditionally used on cattle and livestock, as well as on some enslaved people, to show ownership.

Chattel slavery: A form of slavery, introduced by Europeans, in which the slave is treated as a piece of property, belonging to his or her owner, and has no rights; the slave is enslaved for life and his / her children are automatically enslaved too; chattel slaves can also be bought and sold just like cattle (from which the word chattel comes)

Emancipation: The state of being set free, or granted rights equal to others who already enjoy them; the freeing of slaves from slavery.

Segregation: Separating people, especially in the use of public facilities, employment, education, and housing; usually with a denial of political rights for the excluded group. – Information source: The Abolition Project.

It doesn’t matter if a slaveholder held one slave or a thousand… or if they were treated well or maltreated – they were still owned – and that person was unable to leave the property without a letter of consent.

The pictures below  tell the story better than words how fervent hate was/is; and how eager many people are to degrade one another….

Are you seeing what I’m seeing? Understanding what I’m saying…

The desire for segregation -discrimination  is alive – alert and stalking us…
this is still a part of our combined American history

Yes… my life matters… your life matters… but the topic of discussion is Black life and Black Life matters… As a White person I have no business equating my white life to the Black life of my friend. Working with him for several years on his family genealogy… I discovered many things…  Black life – matters; and there is so much work to yet to be done…

I feel the need to address and stress this point – Because freedom, liberty and justice is still tied to white power, and very few citizens understand the depth and breadth of our white privilege – our power – our white intolerance and injustice; and because we are gearing for another race war, and this frightens me.

Is Black Lives Matter a hostile group? Conceivably – I don’t know for sure, yet.  Is it a group I want to form an alliance with? No, but I do share an empathetic understanding of the hostility and the cause of it.

When someone says yes… all lives matter – — in an effort to equate White life experience to Black life experience – only serves to deny the ongoing struggle and appreciation for their own Black identity and survival.

If I am wrong in what I wrote – speak to me about this …
Educate me… Please.

What do you want to see in 2014?

What do you want to see in 2014?

Perhaps a better question would be… what are you capable of and willing to do in 2014 to bring about the needs that you see that are most important to you? For myself I feel that we need to work harder towards bringing peace, harmony and love for all people.

We cannot ignore history – Most importantly we cannot continue wasting energy or time giving ignorant people publicity. We must not work in splinter groups, each doing our own thing. We must find the energy to move forward and to do this we need to continue to organize as we did for the million people march. We need to look forward not backward, we need to look up, not down. Look at our friends and our allies who are consistently there. We need to forge new friendships and make new allies.

Humanity cries out for comfort, forgiveness, healing, love, patience, joy, guidance, friendship. We need kindness. We need all these in our lives more than we need to be told we are damned and sinners.  We need healers and makers of peace not critics and censors. We need humanitarians. We need kindness; otherwise we are going to continue to move from this darkness into a darker darkness.  No matter what we see and hear from the news media this is the Age of Aquarius. This is the age of increased spirituality and harmony.   This is destined to be the age of ‘holiness and agreement. ‘

We need more break more bread with each other. We need a lot more truly holy men far more than we need little tin gods.  We need light bearers making peace – not just envisioning peace. We need makers of peace to ensure harmony throughout the world. We need ‘lovers’ who call to say “I can help bake bread.”

We need helpful people in our lives to be there to lift us up when we are down. We don’t need tin gods trying to tear us away from our basic security, our family. Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them: all children worldwide.

Human rights are human rights and we must stand up for them. What they need now is help through laws and legislation that will not violate their constitutions.  All children need allies and friends and leaders and policymakers who will protect, listen and represent their needs issues and not promote stigmatization and prejudice.  Lawmakers, policymakers’ movers and shakers, one and all need to act with both reason and evidence and recognize equality and human rights and work to outlaw discrimination, period. Everyone should want laws that will protect every citizen, not harm them. Everyone should work together to make a secure place in the future for the children: Children are the future and we must work together to make a clear pathway for them, all of them and this must, absolutely must include GLBTQIA.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu said “Let us come together and be one; let us be people of peace; let us be people of harmony.” His words should be a reminder to all of us that our personal world is ours to shape, that as individuals we should gather together to work for peace; even as a private individual we are ambassadors to the global community and we have a responsibility to be a person of peace.

As a person of peace we have the responsibility to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to share our knowledge with openness, honesty and kindness. Being an ambassador of peace is a great responsibility but it must be done; we need more bakers of bread than arms sellers. We live together on this planet. Let us be one community; let’s assist and support each other in peace and love every dImageay and let our kindness ripple out to bless others.

Your shoes, your path…

“That only a few, under any circumstances, protest against the injustice of long-established laws and customs, does not disprove the fact of the oppression’s, while the satisfaction of the many, if real only proves their apathy and deeper degradation.” ― Elizabeth Cady Stanton

My blog today focuses on religious leadership that prefers to preserve scripture and tradition.

When you and I stand shoulder to shoulder looking into the vast universe we both see something different because what we see is a matter of perspective; so who I love and how I love them is a private matter between myself and my beloved_ this should never be subjected to offensive ridicule or abnormal scrutiny by religious leadership.

People of all religious faith can do so much better: The preservation of scripture and traditions apparently is more important than a person’s health and well-being. Once again there apparently is a need to discuss accountability: Every religious leader who has spoken harmful and hateful words against GLBT people need to be accountable for the harm they’ve caused.

When a religious leader harms another that person is no longer a leader or is serving humanity. Religious leaders are individually responsible for their own actions and are quite capable of explaining their nonreligious decision to persecute and torment others. Leaders are educated and quite capable of understanding; so it is a matter of choice to ignore facts – which are: 1. Sex is a private matter between the people involved. 2 Same gendered attraction has been noted throughout history. 3. Gendered attraction may be noted as atypical or nonconforming. 4. Gendered attraction is not abnormal, horrible or a shameful abomination. 5. Censoring and condemning gendering or sexual partnering will not gain anyone entry to heaven.

There should be no need for praying, fasting and sacrificing or speak of telling ‘truth with love,’ or speak of dignity or your limited view of marriage and father and mother. They’ve broken the commandments that speak of honor and respect time and time again. Truth stands on its own and needs no defense; God needs no defense. There is no dignity or honor in what has been done. If it is offensive to see men engaged in homoerotic sex then do not peep through the keyhole. Do not attempt to explain homoerotic life to others shows unless you are willing to show them your ignorance as well; if you have not walked their path you have no qualifications. What is being done by Overzealous Evangelical Religious Leadership constitutes madness: My GLBT family members and GLBT Family of Friends live the path and know the harshness of life first hand and I know they live in anxiety-fear and live in hiding because of the censorious the – uncharitable those of who chose not to be kind and generous. I am free at any time to say I am straight because I am, but my GLBT family and GLBT Family of Friends are not fortunate enough to freely say I am GAY.

The vanity of man: Why not be a community that speaks of hope and joy? For many religious leaders love for itself is a looked at with censorship, criticism, cynicism and perhaps is now a faint memory; their sermons on love are duty written; written by rote, rite and ritual not written from a heart filled with love; with eyes filled with tears; with memories of love.

Why be a faith community that inspires others with hate speech? Fame is dubious and lasting only the time of our breath; unless we do something honorable or dishonorable in this universe after our last breath our name and title will be forgotten over a period of time. At the end of the millennia we will all be unidentifiable_ by then we will be little more than little motes of stardust wafting in the universe.

Within us from the beginning of our life there is an untouchable part of us that says I AM; the I Am forms the core of each personality. I AM is intangible it cannot be defined; I AM is known only to the individual. Throughout life ‘I AM’ hides within as a guard but continues to spread throughout life and finds and fixes itself forever. And no one has the right to delineate, describe, portray another as anyone other they are; who ‘I am, or who I should be; or how to live life; or tell others they are a non-person.

Walk your own path in your own shoes, you cannot walk my path in
my shoes or my brothers … you cannot, this is not possible.

The longest journey man takes is the one from his head to his heart.

What are human rights?  Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and personal disapproval, even society’s disapproval, is no excuse to arrest, detain, imprison, harass or torture anyone – ever. We must speak up

Regarding Terrorism: The end goal is of terrorism regardless of the reason is to inflict fear. “When you kill one… you kill ten thousand.”  Have you witnessed men being hung while young children watched? ’Have witnessed a woman being stoned to death? Have you seen a headless body? Have you seen the face of someone burned with acid? Have you?   Do you know the reasons behind the horrifying deaths? I have and I do.

Care and compassion for humanity have always been the cornerstone; the basic foundation of all the guardians of humanity of the past; they have brought us to this time and will see us into the future. Care and compassion call us, call us together. We must come together, we must move beyond the isolationist view that what happens outside of the borders of the United States is ‘their’ problem why should I care or help. We must look beyond our nose; beyond our neighborhood and community; beyond our state and country. This is a world-wide imperative.  The street terrorism and violence witnessed on our own streets in ANYTOWN USA is only a small echo of a worldwide problem. The world is in pain.

The worldwide threat of violence is very real, everyone must speak up, everyone must demonstrate their belief in humanity, must give evidence of their care and compassion. Everyone must be a voice of support to rally the world to help others fight for their rights; it is our right, it is our responsibility. Without a voice of support there is no hope. Where there is no hope conditions will never change.

We must stand shoulder to shoulder determined and strong; that our AGE will not be the AGE of dreaded terror but one of continuing honor, justice and liberty here and around the world.  We must court courage and hope.

Warning: Hate Spoken Here

The Vatican should issue warning Labels: Hate Spoken Here: Statements from the Vatican follows RightWing thinking; continuing the myth that that gay marriage is destroying the essence of the human creature:  Hmm. Manipulating Nature, hardly. What is the Vatican doing? DoImageesn’t the Vatican manipulate the essence of humanity by teaching people to fear god? This is not revering God how can this be; the Vatican teaches their followers to despise for their differences. This sets a dangerous trend for others to follow.  This sets a trend for persecution the continuation of GLBT abuse.

Papal Terrorism: The Vatican has sacrificed the sacred; the essence of humanity. They don’t call for acceptance or even tolerance; their silence condones harassment and humiliation; imprisonment and death. The Vatican position denies men sovereignty of their own unique beingness. The Vatican position has decided to deny uncommon relationships in nature; the Vatican decision teaches people to fear god; not revere; teaches people to despise others for their differences. This sets a dangerous trend for additional abuse. The Vatican message does not embrace the whole world. Their message presents a picture of an intolerant god. The Vatican is guilty of redefining the nature of humanity; their message of ‘peace’ does not speak of peace for all; the Vatican does not appreciate the vulnerability of the heart.

Everyone must understand their words. Do not misunderstand what is said: Papal Terrorism is a clear and present threat and should be resisted.  Malicious words are an injustice on to every mindful mortal who cares for others:  Mankind has dominion overall, not domination, do not confuse the two words.

Hate: The freedom of speech the most revered freedom, a right that everyone should fully appreciate and understand a precious right that must be respected; preserved.  This freedom extends to everyone to freely verbally, harass, and humiliate individuals or groups based on their sexuality.  Hard line religious groups take full advantage of the freedom using it  as an assault weapon to wage an all-out war against the Gay Rights Movement.

Hateful, hurtful words are used as assault weapons against the GLBTQIA community. Statements so carefully crafted; they barely skirt the law yet they achieve a desired outcome by igniting negative homophobic reactions both nationally and internationally.  The outcome of their work: Maim and destroy the work being done by the gay rights activists as they move forward on the quest for worldwide equal rights; human rights.

The outrageous statements are not only inflammatory they border on lunacy!  Fear the devil? Why should anyone fear the devil when we have the masters in the art of coercive indoctrination spewing their hateful lunacy?  Instead of showing respect and reaching out and building trust their idiocies promote fear and hate toward the GLBTQIA community: Because two people of the same gender want to marry; they want to live a life free from persecution: They want equal rights: the right to be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.

Leading names on the of Rightwing Hatewatch list include Brian Fisher, Tony Perkins and Brian Brown each one is well known and well documented for their bizarre and treacherous statements.

  •  Fanatical lunacy; ‘same gender marriage paves the way for the Anti-Christ;
  • same gender marriage could break the nation apart; shun gay family members; blood will flow if___: mass resistance; revolutions and revolts.
  • Dangerous idiocy: ‘abduct children of gay parents.
  • Ghoulish madness: ‘roundup the gays and lesbians and place them behind electrified fences until they die out.’
  • Outrageous idiocy: ‘create ignorant and unbelievable off the wall myths and lies.

Since fear closes the mind and hate poisons the nervous system how does dangerous lunacy and madness favor freedom, family, life, and religious liberty?

Life is filled with choices and the homophobe could give hope to millions by being voices of peace and understanding; they could show themselves as true leaders: they could be voices of inspiration and promote equality. Instead of giving people the ability to roam the sky they are binding them to the earth. Where are the spiritual precepts of dignity and respect for all people regardless of race, creed, color or gender or sexual identification?   Fear closes the mind: Hate poisons. These homophobes are posed in carefully staged settings showing flags and the symbols of justice and liberty claim their cause  as  saving their country, yet their dangerous and fanatical idiocies are heard in Africa the Middle East and other countries; why?

Logic and reason must prevail: Same gender marriage is not calamitous! What is calamitous is their madness to consider dividing the nation. Humanity experienced the Inquisition; the crusades; the holy wars; the holocaust; genocide-mass-murder and cold wars-world wars. Those are extreme horrors, yet homophobic idiocy equates two people of same gender who love each other and want to marry to be paving the way for the Anti-Christ.

Men of quality and worth do not tell myths and lies or by deliberate strategy link homosexuality, which is not a crime to pedophilia which is a crime involving and adult and children/youth; involving building and breaking trust; involving secrecy, hiding and shame. Fact: Pedophilia is a perverted self-indulgent sexual desire for children and classified as criminal offense. It is felt by an adult and noted in all states as a crime. Fact: Homosexuality is sexual attraction to someone of the same sex.  Fact: Homosexuality is not a criminal offense. Fact: Homophobia is irrational.  Fear closes the mind: Hate poisons.

Self-identity is more than a part of a person; it is the complete personality: Universally gays and lesbians are made to feel ashamed; made to feel that their feeling of attraction to their own gender is wrong.   Homosexuality is not a crime. It is atypical: it is not aberrant; it is not abhorrent.

A church represents the spiritual heart and the leadership represents its voice and the essence of spiritual values. The church should be a safe place, an asylum, but how can it be when the leaders use hurtful words and sits with others to plan and plot treacherous activities?  The parables denote acceptance, equality, harmony, freedom; inclusion and respect. Man is heir, not ruler so why hinder and oppose the spread of different thoughts and new social developments?

Fear closes the mind: Hate poisons. Homophobia contributes to and promotes worldwide GLBTQIA deaths: The Christ withstood harassment, torment and persecution and today the same fanatical idiocy does the same to the GLBTQIA community. Homophobes breathe the same air as everyone else, bend down to put on their shoes and sit on a porcelain throne and use paper that comes on a roll; and one day each will stand at the entrance of the pearly gates: what defense will be strong enough for ‘St. Peter’ to overlook their illogical-intentional; obsessive and deadly persecution of the GLBTQIA community?

The right to freedom of expression and speech must never be repressed but the legality regarding illogical hate speech must be continually addressed. Human rights are inherent to all human beings, and must carry the day because homophobic disapproval is no excuse harm, harass or humiliate anyone – for their sexuality.

To marry is to join. Marriage is a revered ceremony dreamed of by many GLBTQIA people. Their desire to marry should never have been a matter of worldwide discussion or national debate.  All of us came naked from a place of darkness and silence to share time together in the universe and each of us will leave behind memories on the hearts of others and footprints on the sands of time.
